They put my K&N filter in an said it made no difference. The flash can be adjusted or put back to stock at any time once in production. But once you put an open exhaust (MT-07 is a 1 piece pipe, no separate muffler.) you need to retune. If you have a stock exhaust, nothing is necessary. Not a huge hp increase but much more snappy, revs stay strong another 1200 rpms, and it improves persormance all the way up and down the power band with my wide open exhaust. They made one from scratch for my bike to tune. They have to order the new cables to make the unit work. You will notice a difference over the Yamalube10-40 dinosaur oil, and go longer between oil changes.

And upgrade your engine oil to a quality synthetic, at the same time. And dump the paper filter for a K&N or similar washable air filter, so you don't have to buy another filter for your bike.
If you really want a good tune, and get it on a dyno, have them block of the PAIR valve, so they can get a good reading for the A/F ratios, as well as get rid of the decel pop, if you get a pipe. The Dynojet PV3 has its own diagnostic function, which makes it really cool. Big corporations are buying out the smaller dealerships and replacing the good mechanics with lower pay ones. Not to many really good dealer mechanics out there any more. Once you are out of warranty, all you have to do is tell them not to plug in, or avoid the dealership service department altogether (which is what I do, regardless). If you reflash, you are really screwed because then you have to take out the ECU and send it back to the flash tune company. The PV3 will allow you to change settings as you add mods, and flash back to stock for warranty repairs or recalls, then get your tune back (provided Yamaha doesn't do anything stupid like Harley and Indian, where they remap your base tune automatically when they plug in their computer to your OBD2 port for diagnostic issues).

I already have a full exhaust, thier airbox lid, and a PC5 which is just a piggyback unit that helps the low end, and the top, for the unrestricted exhaust, but only adds about 2 hp. I am fortunate enough to live close to their corporate office, and get the opportunity to be their test bed for a lot of new bikes and new mods. I should have the first Dynojet PV3 for the 2021 MT-07 on my bike, tuned by Dynojet by the end of the week.
